How a mylar retail bag is built
Mylar here means a laminated film, usually a printed outer layer, a metallized or foil barrier layer and a heat-seal inner layer. A word on storage and handling. Mylar slows down light, air and moisture, but it does not stop product from drying out or going stale if the bag is opened often or stored warm. Brands that care about freshness keep the fill tight, press out excess air before sealing, and tell customers to close the zipper fully after each use.
