Cannabis Packaging

Cannabis packaging is the printed box, bag, or sleeve that holds flower, edibles, cartridges, or pre-rolls for sale in licensed markets. Dispensaries, cultivators, and infused-product brands buy it with their own artwork and compliance text. Every order is printed to your dimensions with no minimum order, and TBPB beats a written quote for the same specs. Start with custom printed cannabis boxes for retail cartons or delta 9 packaging for infused products. Send your product size and a quantity, even one, and we return a dieline and quote. State labeling and child-resistance rules are yours to meet; we print the artwork you supply.

Rules first, then the box

Cannabis packaging is shaped by state law more than by taste. Most licensed markets require opaque or child-resistant packaging, specific warning text, a THC symbol, batch and test information, and limits on cartoon or youth-appealing imagery. The rules differ by state and change. The buyer is responsible for reading the current rules for the state where the product is sold and for supplying compliant label copy. We print the artwork you give us at the size you specify. Confirm your required text and panel sizes before you finalize a dieline.

Formats by product type

Flower usually goes in a mylar or heat-sealed bag inside a printed carton. Edibles often use a box that holds the individual-serving packages. Cartridges need a snug insert so the glass does not rattle. Concentrates use small boxes with a custom insert. The outer carton is where branding happens, so keep the front clean and put the compliance block on the back or side. Folding cartons suit most products because they ship flat and hold fine print well. Rigid boxes suit premium flower and gift sets.

Materials, finishes, and what to watch

Paperboard with matte or soft-touch lamination looks premium and holds fine type. Metallic foil and spot gloss draw attention, but heavy ink coverage on a small box can crack at the folds, so ask for a fold test on a sample before a large run. Inner trays and inserts can be paperboard or foam; tell us the weight of the product so the insert holds it still. Odor control is a bag question, not a box one, so see mylar bags for sealed, smell-resistant pouches.

When another category fits better

If the product is a rolled joint, pre-roll packaging has tubes and sleeves built for the shape. For hemp-derived or CBD items, use hemp packaging or CBD packaging so the labeling matches the regulatory pathway. Medical or pharmacy-style products belong with pharma packaging.

How to order

Send the product dimensions and weight, quantity, and your artwork. One box is fine for a test. We return a dieline for you to check against your state requirements before anything prints. Ask in your first message if you need a window, an insert, or a matching sleeve.

Questions buyers ask about cannabis packaging

Is there a minimum order for cannabis packaging?

No. Order one box to test the fit or ten thousand for a full release. The size and print are the same either way.

Is your packaging child-resistant certified?

We do not claim certification. Child-resistant testing and state compliance are the buyer responsibility. We print the dieline and artwork you provide, and you confirm it meets your market rules.

Can I put my own warning text and THC symbol on the box?

Yes. Send the final required text and symbol as artwork. We print it as supplied and do not write or verify compliance copy.

What size should my cannabis box be?

Measure the product or inner package in length, width, and height, then send those numbers. We add clearance and build the dieline. Check it against your product before approving.

Can I order mylar bags to go with the box?

Yes. Mylar bags are in their own category and can carry matching artwork, so the bag and carton read as one product.

Can you beat my current cannabis packaging quote?

Send a written quote for the same size, material, and quantity. We aim to beat it and will say so plainly if we cannot.
