A blunt is bigger than a joint, and the box has to know it
Blunts are fatter and often longer than ordinary pre-rolls, with a rolled wrap that does not forgive crushing. A box designed for slim joints will either not close or will squash the tip. The carton needs more internal width, a bit more length, and a firm board so the wrap keeps its shape in a pocket. Because each brand rolls to its own size, there is no standard dimension. That is why a measured, made-to-fit box beats a stock one.
Measuring a blunt for the dieline
Measure the finished blunt end to end, including any tip, then measure the diameter at the thickest point. For a multi-pack, multiply the diameter by the count and leave a small gap between each so the wraps do not rub. Add about 1/8 inch for the board walls. If you sell empty wraps instead, measure the folded pack and the stack height, and tell us whether the wraps are individually sealed.
Structure and board
Single blunts usually go in a long tuck-end carton, and multi-packs in a sleeve with an inner tray or dividers that hold each blunt apart. Board runs between 16 and 24 pt; heavier is better when the contents are long and thin and must not bend.

Where blunt packaging goes wrong
Most failed orders have one of two causes. The first is a carton cut to the length of the blunt but not its girth, so the wrap bulges the side panels and the box will not stay closed. The second is a closure that is too loose for something carried in a pocket or a bag. A deeper tuck flap, a sleeve over a tray, or a snug friction fit solves it. Also think about the tip: if your blunts have a plastic or wood tip, include it in the length, because it is the first thing to catch on a short box. A sample run is the cheap way to find out before you print thousands.
Regulatory points you must handle
What a blunt contains, whether hemp, tobacco-free or cannabis, determines the legal labelling in your state: warnings, content statements, age notices and sometimes child-resistant rules. That is your responsibility, and you should confirm it with your own regulatory adviser. We print the artwork you supply. We do not describe these cartons as child-resistant.
