Eco-Friendly Packaging

Eco-Friendly Custom Packaging With No Minimum Order

Yes, you can get eco-friendly custom packaging with no minimum order. We print recycled kraft and recyclable paperboard and corrugated boxes in whatever quantity you actually need, whether that is 25 units for a first product run or 5,000 for a restock. You do not have to buy a pallet to get a green option, and you should not have to pay a premium for it either.

What eco-friendly packaging actually means

Eco-friendly is a loose term, so here is how we use it honestly. Most of what makes a box greener comes down to two things: the material it is made from, and how easily it recycles once your customer is done with it. Recycled content kraft and corrugated board are made partly from post-consumer paper, and they drop straight into a curbside paper bin. Uncoated or lightly coated paperboard repulps more cleanly than a box wrapped in heavy plastic lamination or metallic foil. Water-based and soy-based inks, where your artwork allows, keep the finished box easier to recycle.

We will also tell you when a choice is not actually green. A high-gloss laminate or a bright foil looks fantastic on a shelf, but it makes the box harder to recycle. That is a real trade-off, and it is your call, but we are not going to pretend a foil-wrapped box is something it is not.

Why no minimum is the greener way to order

Bulk minimums are quietly wasteful. When a supplier makes you order 500 or 1,000 units just to get a workable price, plenty of small brands end up sitting on boxes they never ship, sizes they outgrew after a rebrand, or artwork that changed before the stock ran out. Those boxes get thrown away. Ordering the amount you truly need is one of the most sustainable moves a small brand can make, and it is only possible when there is no minimum standing in the way.

Eco-friendly options by product

Here is where the green choices actually live in a custom packaging lineup.

  • Recycled kraft mailers and shipping boxes. Curbside recyclable, sturdy, and the natural brown look reads as sustainable without any greenwashing. See our corrugated box guide for flute and strength details.
  • Recyclable folding cartons for retail. Paperboard cartons for cosmetics, food, supplements, and similar products recycle with your household paper.
  • Paper-based bags and wraps instead of plastic wherever the product allows.
  • A word on mylar. Mylar bags are a barrier film, not a paper product, so they are not curbside recyclable. If a recyclable pack is your top priority, a paperboard carton or a kraft box is the better fit. If you need the barrier for freshness or smell control, that is a different job and mylar earns its place.

Recyclable, compostable, biodegradable: what the words really mean

These three terms get mixed up constantly, so here is the plain version. Recyclable means the material can be collected and reprocessed into something new, and clean paper and corrugated are the easy wins. Compostable means it breaks down into non-toxic organic matter under the right conditions, and most true compostables need a commercial composting facility rather than a backyard bin. Biodegradable just means it breaks down eventually, with no time limit attached, so treat that word with caution. For most custom box orders, recyclable paper and board is the honest, achievable green choice, and it does not cost extra.

Keeping eco packaging affordable

Green packaging has a reputation for costing more. It does not have to. Recycled kraft and standard recyclable board are not premium materials, they are everyday stock, so a plain recycled kraft mailer usually costs about the same or less than a bleached white one. Where the price climbs is specialty finishes and certified compostable films. So if budget is tight, keep the material simple and let the printing do the talking. Curious what your run would cost? Turnaround and what to expect

An eco box runs on the same schedule as any other custom box with us, roughly 10 to 14 business days from approved artwork, plus transit time. Recycled stock does not add days. Rush options depend on the run and the season, so ask when you request your quote and we will tell you straight.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a minimum order for eco-friendly boxes?

No. You can order as few as one recycled kraft or recyclable box. There is no minimum on any of our custom packaging.

Is recycled kraft actually recyclable?

Yes. Plain kraft and corrugated are curbside recyclable in most areas, as long as they are not coated in heavy plastic lamination or foil.

Are your mylar bags eco-friendly?

Mylar is a barrier film, not a paper product, so it is not curbside recyclable. If a recyclable pack is your priority, a paperboard carton or kraft box is the better choice.

Does eco-friendly packaging cost more?

Usually not. Recycled kraft and standard recyclable board are everyday materials, so they often cost the same or less than bleached white stock. Certified compostable films and specialty finishes are where the cost goes up.

Can you match a lower price on eco packaging?

Send us a written quote and we will try to beat it. Being the best price is the whole reason for our name.
