Marijuana Packaging

Marijuana packaging is the printed box that holds flower, edibles, concentrates, or pre-rolls for dispensary and delivery sales. Growers, processors, and retail brands buy it with their own artwork and the warnings their state requires. Every order is made to your dimensions with no minimum order, and TBPB beats a written quote for the same specs. The core product is custom marijuana packaging, cut to the jar, bag, or container you send. Provide your product size and a quantity, even one, and we return a dieline and quote. State labeling and child-resistant rules are yours to meet; we print the artwork you supply.

Dispensary shelf versus delivery bag

Packaging for a dispensary counter and packaging for a delivery order do different work. On the shelf, the box has seconds to read as a brand: strong front panel, clear strain or product name, a recognizable color. In a delivery bag, the box only has to protect the product and look clean when it is opened at home. Many brands do both with one box and add a sleeve for retail. Be honest about where yours will be seen, and the design priorities sort themselves out.

Sizing and structure

Most marijuana boxes wrap something else: a glass jar, a heat-sealed bag, a cartridge, a tin, or an edible tray. Measure that container, not the product inside it, at the widest point and full height. A tuck-end folding carton suits jars and cartridges. A two-piece box suits premium eighths and gift sets. A sleeve over a tray works when the inner pack changes between SKUs but the outer brand stays constant. Ask for an insert if the container can shift.

Print and finish that hold up

Dark colors and heavy coverage look great on a prototype and can crack at the creases on a folded carton, so ask for a fold test if your artwork is solid black or deep green. Matte laminate is the common choice. Foil and spot gloss on the logo give contrast without adding much cost. Fine regulatory type needs a smooth white surface to stay legible, which is why some brands print the front in color and leave the back panel light.

Rules and responsibilities

State cannabis rules cover opaque packaging, resealability, child-resistance, THC symbols, warnings, and restrictions on imagery. They change often. The buyer is responsible for reading the current rules and supplying compliant artwork. We print the dieline and artwork as given and do not claim certification of any kind.

When another category fits better

The broader cannabis packaging category covers infused and delta-9 products. Rolled joints and cones live under pre-roll packaging. For sealed, smell-resistant pouches, see mylar bags.

How to order

Send the container dimensions, quantity, and artwork. One box is fine for a fit test. We return a dieline to check against your state rules before printing.

One practical note on inserts: if the container is glass, ask for a paperboard or foam insert cut to the jar. Glass that rattles inside a carton is the most common complaint from dispensary buyers, and it is cheap to prevent.

Questions buyers ask about marijuana packaging

Is there a minimum order for marijuana packaging?

No. Order one box or ten thousand. Size and print quality do not change with quantity.

Is your packaging child-resistant?

We do not claim child-resistant certification. If your state requires it, confirm the requirement and use a separately tested closure. Compliance is the buyer responsibility.

Can I print my state warning text on the box?

Yes, as supplied artwork. We print it exactly as sent and do not write or verify regulatory wording.

What box fits an eighth jar?

It depends on the jar. Measure the widest point and full height including the lid, then send those numbers. We build the carton to fit.

Can the box be opaque?

Yes. Solid printed board is opaque by nature. Confirm your state definition of opaque, since some require it on the inner container too.

Can you beat my current quote?

Send a written quote for the same size, material, and quantity. We aim to beat it and will say so plainly if we cannot.
