Candle Boxes

Custom printed candle boxes made to your size with no minimum order. Rigid candle boxes, tuck end cartons, sleeves, and window boxes that protect the jar and sell the scent, printed full color and priced to beat your current quote.
Packaging that fits the jar and the brand
Tell us the vessel, a standard eight ounce jar, a tin, or a tall pillar, and we build the box to fit snug so it does not rattle in shipping. A rigid box with an insert feels premium for a gift candle, a tuck end carton keeps a retail line affordable, and a sleeve shows the label while using less material. Add a window, foil on the logo, and a matte or soft touch finish for that luxury feel.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum order for candle boxes?

No. Order a single box or thousands. There's no MOQ, so you can launch small and reorder as you grow.

Will a presentation box protect my candle in shipping?

Not on its own. For shipping glass, pair a presentation box with a corrugated mailer and insert, or use a shipping-rated design. We'll help you choose.

What sizes do candle jar boxes come in?

We build to your jar's exact diameter and height. Send the jar specs and we'll size the box to fit snugly.

Can I add luxury finishes for gifting?

Yes, foil stamping, soft-touch, magnetic closures, and window cutouts are all available, even on short runs.

Candle packaging has one problem no other box has: the thing inside is glass, heavy for its size, and scented

A candle is an awkward object to ship. A filled jar concentrates real weight in a small footprint, so the box takes the load through its base rather than its walls. The glass is brittle at the rim, which is the part a lid touches. And the fragrance migrates — an uncoated board will take on the scent, and two different fragrances packed near each other will end up smelling like each other.

Most candle packaging is specified as if it were a gift box. It is closer to a shipping problem wearing a gift box.

Weight goes through the base

Work out the filled weight of the candle rather than the empty jar, then decide the board from that number. A single filled jar in a folding carton is usually fine. Two or three in one box, or anything traveling by courier rather than home in a bag, moves the answer toward corrugated or a rigid structure with an insert taking the load off the panel walls.

The failure people actually see is not a burst box. It is a base that bows over a few days in storage until the candle sits at an angle and the label no longer lines up in the window.

The insert is not optional on glass

Glass does not fail from a drop as often as it fails from glass touching glass. A multi-candle box without dividers will chip rims in transit even when the outer box arrives looking perfect. Die-cut board dividers handle most sets. Foam or molded pulp is worth it for heavier vessels or anything shipping long distance.

For a single candle, the insert is doing a different job: holding the jar centered so it does not rattle, and stopping it dropping onto the base when the box is set down.

Scent migration is a material decision

Uncoated kraft breathes, which is part of why it feels natural, and it will absorb fragrance from the candle it holds. For a single product that is harmless and sometimes pleasant. Across a mixed range packed together in a warehouse it is a problem, because the customer opens a box that smells of a scent they did not order.

A coated or laminated inner surface slows it considerably. If you run more than three or four fragrances and pack them in the same space, raise it when you order and we will specify for it.

Structures

Two-piece lid and baseThe standard for a single candle sold as a gift. Lid lifts clear, the reveal is slow, and the base carries the weight without any folding stress.
Window boxShows the vessel and the wax color on a shelf. Costs some of the light barrier, which matters for colored wax and natural fragrances that fade under retail lighting.
Sleeve and trayTray holds the candle, printed sleeve slides over. Fast to assemble, and the sleeve can be changed seasonally without retooling the tray.
Shipping outerA separate corrugated box around the retail box, for direct-to-customer orders. Keeps the presentation box unmarked, which is the whole point of it.
Dust coverSits over the jar itself rather than around the box. Protects the rim and the wick and reads as a considered detail on an unboxing.

Candle boxes by structure

Two-piece candle boxes give the lift-off lid and the slower reveal that gift buyers respond to. Candle jar boxes are built around the jar profile rather than a generic rectangle, which is what removes the rattle.

Candle window boxes put the vessel on show for a retail shelf. Sleeve and tray candle boxes let you change the printed sleeve for a season or a collection while the tray stays the same.

At the premium end, luxury candle boxes and custom luxury candle boxes use rigid construction and finishing rather than folding board.

Protection and shipping

Candle shipping boxes go around the retail box for direct-to-customer orders, so what arrives at the door is unmarked. Candle dust covers and kraft candle dust covers sit over the jar to protect the rim and the wick.

Programs and regulated products

Candle subscription boxes are specified for transit rather than display, since nobody sees them on a shelf and every one of them goes through a courier network. CBD candle boxes carry the additional label area that regulated products need.

Ordering

No minimum order, so a single fragrance launch or a seasonal sleeve can be run on its own. Boxes are built around your vessel rather than picked from a fixed list — send us the jar dimensions and the filled weight and the structure follows from that. Design is free, samples are free, and shipping is free. Reorders run from the approved file.

Questions candle makers ask

What do you need from me to quote a candle box?

The jar diameter and height, the filled weight, how many go in one box, and whether it ships to a customer or goes home in a bag from a store. Those four answers settle the board, the insert and the structure between them.

Will the box take on the fragrance?

Uncoated kraft will, over time. That is fine for a single scent and a problem across a mixed range stored together. A coated or laminated inner surface slows it down considerably. Tell us how many fragrances you run and where they are stored.

Do I need an insert for one candle?

Usually yes, though a light one. A single jar rattling inside a box will not break, but it will land hard on the base every time the box is set down, and the customer hears it. For two or more candles an insert stops glass touching glass, which is where chipped rims come from.

Can I use a window box for a shelf?

Yes, and it sells well. The trade-off is light. Colored wax and some natural fragrances degrade under sustained retail lighting, so if stock sits for weeks rather than days, keep the window smaller or place it away from the face that catches the light.

Should the retail box be the shipping box?

Only if you accept it arriving scuffed. A printed presentation box traveling alone through a courier network picks up marks on the corners and the lid, which is exactly the part the customer looks at first. A separate shipping outer is the usual answer for direct-to-customer.
