Shipping and Turnaround

Standard production runs 7 to 14 business days, depending on the box style, print method, and finishing you choose, a simple kraft mailer moves faster than a box with foil stamping or spot UV. Need it sooner? We handle rush requests case by case, so email us your deadline before you place the order and we’ll tell you straight whether we can hit it.

Shipping is free on every order, in the United States and internationally. We ship with FedEx, UPS, USPS or DHL depending on your location and order size, and you’ll get a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our facility.

Ornament boxes are custom boxes sized and fitted to a specific ornament, with an insert or divider that holds it still and a printed exterior that works as a gift box. TBPB makes them with no minimum order, and our price-beat guarantee covers any written quote you bring for the same specs.

Fragile, round and awkward: what an ornament box has to handle

Ornaments are among the trickiest things to box. A glass ball is round, thin-walled and heavy for its size. A hanging cap sticks out. A flat resin or wooden piece is sturdy but chips at the corners. The box has to stop the ornament from rolling, keep the cap or hanger from pressing on the glass, and survive the stacking that happens in a shop or under a tree. A plain carton with loose tissue does neither well. We design the insert first, usually a die-cut foam cradle, a paperboard divider, or a molded-style pocket cut to the ornament, and then build the carton around it.

Sizing and fit

Measure the ornament at its widest diameter, its full height including the cap and the hanging loop, and its depth if it is not round. For a single glass ball, the cavity should be sized so the ornament has a little give on all sides without being able to bounce. For sets, tell us the count and whether you want them in a row, a grid or a tiered tray. Many brands choose a window cutout so the buyer can see the color before opening, which is worth considering for a gift display. Our custom foam inserts can handle the cradle, and the carton can be any style from a tuck-end box to a lidded gift box.

Board and finish choices

For retail display, folding carton paperboard in the 16 pt to 24 pt range works for light ornaments and gives a clean print surface. If the box has to survive shipping, corrugated, such as E-flute or B-flute, adds crush resistance, and you can print directly on it or wrap a printed sleeve around it. Finishes tend to follow the season: foil stamping in gold or silver on dark stock, matte lamination for a quiet look, and spot UV for snowflakes or lettering. Kraft board gives a natural, handmade look that suits wood and felt ornaments. A tip from experience: bright metallic foil on a small lid looks richer than printing the whole box in effects.

When another style is the better choice

If ornaments sell through a website, a fancy display carton alone will not carry the shipping risk. Pair it with an outer shipper, and take a look at our ecommerce boxes for that outer layer. If you want a more gift-like presentation, the four-corner gift box is a good structure to start from, and we can add an insert inside it. Whichever you pick, keep the lid fit snug enough that the box does not pop open when stacked. The wider range sits in the custom retail packaging category.

  • Single, pair or multi-ornament layouts
  • Inserts in die-cut foam, paperboard dividers or board pockets
  • Folding carton, kraft board or corrugated, matched to how it ships
  • Optional window to show the ornament color
  • CMYK or Pantone printing, with foil, matte or spot UV finishes

Send the ornament size, the count per box and your quantity, even if it is just one, and we will draw the dieline and quote it.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Is there a minimum order for ornament boxes?

No. TBPB has no minimum order. Order one box to check the fit of a fragile glass ornament, or thousands for a seasonal line. The process is the same: you send the ornament size and count, and we draw the dieline and quote it.

  2. How do I size a box for a round glass ornament?

Measure the widest diameter and the full height with the cap and hanger. The cavity should hold the ball snugly with a little give all around, and the cap should not press on the glass. Send those figures and we will design the cradle.

  3. What insert is best for fragile ornaments?

Die-cut foam holds a glass ornament firmly and absorbs knocks. Paperboard dividers are lighter and easier to recycle, and they suit sturdy ornaments or sets. The right choice depends on the weight and shape, so tell us what the ornament is made of.

  4. Can the box have a window?

Yes. A window cutout shows the ornament color and shape on the shelf. For glass ornaments, keep the window film or opening sized so the box still keeps its structure, and remember that a window box usually needs an outer shipper for online orders.

  5. Do ornament boxes ship safely on their own?

Not always. A printed display carton protects an ornament on a shelf, but parcel carriers are rougher. For online orders, place the finished box inside a corrugated shipper with void fill. That keeps the printed box clean and the ornament in one piece.

  6. Can I print foil or gold details on the lid?

Yes. Foil stamping works well for lettering, snowflakes and logos on dark board. Keep thin lines at a reasonable weight, since very fine strokes can fill in. Spot UV is an alternative if you prefer a glossy detail without metal.

Custom Ornament Boxes for Style and Protection

Ornament boxes are custom-fitted boxes for holiday ornaments, whether glass baubles, ceramic pieces, wooden shapes or keepsake sets. The insert is what separates a good one from a plain carton: it holds the ornament still, keeps the cap away from the glass and stops the piece from rolling. The outside doubles as a gift box with your artwork on it. TBPB prints the carton, cuts the insert to your ornament size and takes orders of any quantity, with no minimum order.

Why Choose Custom Ornament Boxes?

Think about how the ornament travels before you choose a style. A boxed ornament sold in a shop can use folding carton paperboard with a foam or board insert. One that ships to a customer needs corrugated or an outer shipper as well. Then choose the fit: a single glass ball wants a snug cradle, a set wants a tray with separate pockets. For finishes, foil and spot UV give a seasonal feel without changing the structure. If you are unsure, send a photo and the measurements and we will suggest a build.
