Pancake boxes

Custom pancake boxes are printed takeout cartons cut to fit a stack of pancakes, waffles or crepes, with room for steam to escape so the bottom cake does not go soft. They suit diners, cafes and ghost kitchens, and TBPB makes them to your stack size with no minimum order, from a single box to a full pallet.

Shipping and Turnaround

Standard production runs 7 to 14 business days, depending on the box style, print method, and finishing you choose, a simple kraft mailer moves faster than a box with foil stamping or spot UV. Need it sooner? We handle rush requests case by case, so email us your deadline before you place the order and we’ll tell you straight whether we can hit it.

Shipping is free on every order, in the United States and internationally. We ship with FedEx, UPS, USPS or DHL depending on your location and order size, and you’ll get a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our facility.

Custom pancake boxes are printed takeout cartons sized for a stack of pancakes, waffles or crepes, and The Best Price Boxes makes them with no minimum order. Send us your stack dimensions and we build the carton around it; bring a written quote for the same specs and our price-beat guarantee applies.

Why a pancake stack is hard to box

Pancakes are wide, flat and hot, and that combination causes most delivery complaints. Steam condenses on the lid and drips back down, the bottom cake turns limp, and a syrup cup slides into the stack. A good pancake carton is shallow and wide rather than tall, leaves enough headspace that the lid never presses the top cake, and has a few small vents so steam leaves the box instead of raining back onto the food. If you sell stacks of three to five with a pat of butter on top, that headspace matters more than any print finish.

Sizing the carton around your stack

Put a finished stack on a flat surface and measure two things: the diameter at its widest point and the height with the butter on. Add about 1/8 inch of clearance per side for a folding carton, and a little extra height so the lid closes without squashing the top cake. Measure your own pancakes rather than a recipe card, because batter, pan size and griddle heat all change the final spread. If you ship bacon, eggs or fruit with the stack, tell us. A divider panel or a second compartment is usually cleaner than a second box. Waffles and folded crepes use the same approach, so just send their measurements.

Board, coating and keeping the stack dry

Most pancake cartons are folding carton paperboard, typically in the 16 to 24 pt range, or kraft board for a plain diner look. Corrugated E-flute adds stiffness and some insulation for larger family orders, at the cost of a thicker wall and a bulkier stack on your shelf. Hot, buttery food sits against the inside wall for half an hour or more, so ask about a coating or liner suited to warm, oily contact. We print on the board you choose. Whether a given coating or liner is suitable for food contact is something to confirm with your own regulatory adviser, and allergen or labelling copy on the carton is yours to supply.

Print, finish and when another box wins

Logos and menu colors print in CMYK or matched Pantone, with a matte or gloss aqueous coating on the outside. Kraft takes one- or two-color artwork well and gives a diner feel without heavy ink coverage. A die-cut window shows off the stack but lets heat out, so it makes sense for cold or retail-style pancake kits and rarely for hot takeout. If you ship frozen pancakes by courier, a flat carton will not survive the trip, and a corrugated shipper such as our mailer boxes is the better choice. For a single slice of French toast or a breakfast sandwich, a narrower toast packaging box fits better, and a mixed breakfast order often travels well in our takeout food boxes.

  • Styles: hinged-lid takeout carton, tuck-flap carton, or sleeve and tray
  • Board: SBS paperboard, kraft board, or E-flute corrugated
  • Extras: steam vents, divider panel, syrup-cup pocket
  • Print: CMYK, Pantone match, matte or gloss aqueous coating
  • Quantity: one box to tens of thousands

Next step: send your stack diameter, stack height and the quantity you want, even if it is one. We draw the dieline and quote it. You can browse more bakery and breakfast cartons in our custom food boxes range.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Do you have a minimum order for pancake boxes?

No. There is no minimum order, so you can order one box to test a size or ten thousand for a restaurant group. Each size and print run is quoted from your dieline, and if you bring a written quote for the same specs, we aim to beat it.

  2. What size box do I need for a stack of pancakes?

Measure the diameter and the stack height of a finished plate with butter on top. Add roughly 1/8 inch of clearance per side and a little extra height so the lid does not press the top cake. Send us those numbers and we draw the exact dieline.

  3. How do I stop pancakes going soggy in a takeout box?

Vent the lid with a few small holes, leave headspace above the stack, and keep syrup in a separate cup. Sealing steam in a tight box is what softens the bottom layer. A vented, shallow carton keeps pancakes noticeably better on a short delivery.

  4. Can the pancake boxes be printed with my logo and menu details?

Yes. We print your supplied artwork in CMYK or Pantone-matched color, inside or outside, with matte or gloss aqueous coating. Kraft board suits simple one- or two-color branding. Allergen and labelling text is yours to provide and check against local rules.

  5. Are pancake boxes food safe?

Food-contact suitability depends on the exact board, coating and liner you choose, so we do not make blanket claims. Tell us the product and we will note your requirements on the quote. Confirm coating and liner suitability with your own regulatory adviser before you pack food.

  6. Can I get a box for waffles or crepes too?

Yes. Waffles and folded crepes follow the same sizing method, so measure the widest point and the stack height and send it over. If you sell several items, we can quote a few sizes together so your menu shares one look.

Why Choose Custom Pancake Boxes for Your Business?

Pancake boxes from TBPB are folding cartons built for the awkward shape of a hot stack: wide, low and prone to steam. We cut each one to your measured diameter and height, add vents if you want them, and print your branding on the outside. Diners, cafes and delivery kitchens choose them because the size is made for their food, not borrowed from a generic takeout range, and because there is no minimum order. Order a single carton to test the fit or thousands for every location.

What Makes Pancake Boxes Essential for Your Pancake Business?

Start with the stack, not the box. Measure the diameter and the height of a finished plate with butter on, then choose a style. A hinged-lid carton is quickest for counter service, a tuck-flap carton packs flatter for storage, and a sleeve and tray looks better for gifted brunch kits. Pick paperboard for a clean printed look or kraft for a diner feel. Add vents for hot food and skip the window unless the product is cold. If you plan to sell syrup or sides in the same bag, mention it now so the footprint leaves room. Then send us the quantity. One box is fine.
