Matching the carton to the container
Each container type wants a different structure. A cream jar fits a square tuck-end carton, often with a paperboard insert or collar to stop the jar spinning. A tube lies flat in a long, slim carton. Most skincare cartons are folding carton board, 16 to 24 pt, in white, or kraft for brands that lean natural. White gives the cleanest colour for pastels and clinical palettes. Kraft works for botanical lines but will mute light inks. Finishing is where skincare packaging earns its look.

Plan the back and side panels early and leave a blank patch for a batch code or label if you will stamp or sticker it later. Keep body text at 6 pt or larger on a coated surface, and avoid fine light-grey type on kraft. Pale pastel backgrounds look soft on screen but can shift slightly in print, so if colour accuracy matters, ask for Pantone matching and check a printed sample before the full run.
When another structure is the better call
If your serums are small glass bottles with droppers, the dedicated dropper bottle box gives a tighter fit.
