A custom branded box is any box printed with your own logo, colours and message, made to the size of your product instead of picked off a shelf. TBPB makes them with no minimum order, and we beat a written quote for the same specs.
Branding is a decision about where, not just what
Most new brands think about the lid and nothing else. The box has more surface than that. The outside face is for recognition: logo, colour and one idea. The sides are for repeat information such as flavour, size or a URL. The inside is the one place the customer is actively looking at the moment they decide how they feel about you, which makes it a good spot for a pattern, a thank-you line, or a QR code to a care guide.
Print everywhere and you spend on ink the customer barely sees. Print the inside of a shipper and the unboxing improves more than any outside upgrade would. We would pick one well-placed detail over five average ones.
Picking the box style first
Branding sits on top of structure, so choose the structure before the artwork. A folding carton such as a tuck top box suits lightweight retail products on a shelf: cosmetics, small accessories, candles. A corrugated mailer, like the ones on our mailer boxes page, suits shipped goods that need to survive a courier. If a product needs both, many ecommerce brands use a mailer for shipping and a branded inner carton for presentation. The ecommerce boxes page shows that setup in more detail.
If you are unsure, tell us what the product weighs and how it will reach the customer. Weight and shipping route decide board far more than taste does.
Sizing a branded box
For folding cartons, measure length, width and depth of the product, then add about 1/8 inch of clearance on each side. A tight box looks better and prevents rattling, but too tight and the product scrapes the print on the way in. For shipping boxes, add room for any protective insert, since a paper insert or fold-in flap changes the interior.
Send a sample of the product if you can. A measured drawing is good, and a real object on the table is better.
When a branded box is not the first move
If you are still changing the product itself, a fully custom structure can be premature. Early on, a simple branded carton with a logo and one colour does the job, and you can add foil, embossing or a printed interior once the product has settled. Likewise, if the product ships in thin bags, a printed label on a plain box can carry the brand while you learn what customers buy. Starting small is fine here, because there is no minimum.
Print and finish options
- Full-colour CMYK or Pantone-matched brand colours
- Matte or gloss aqueous coating, or soft-touch lamination
- Foil stamping, embossing and spot UV for accent areas
- Kraft board for a natural look, white board for bright colour
- Printed interiors, where the structure supports it
A practical warning on colour: kraft board makes bright colours look flatter and warmer than the screen. White board holds colour closer to your artwork. If your brand colour is critical, ask for a Pantone match and a proof before the full run.
If your product falls under food, cosmetics, supplements or other regulated categories, label wording and claims are your responsibility. We print the artwork you give us, so check required text with your own regulatory adviser.
Tell us the product dimensions, how it ships, and a quantity, even one. We draw the dieline, and you see it before anything is printed. Related ranges live under custom retail packaging.
Frequently asked questions
What are custom branded boxes?
They are boxes printed with your logo, colours and messaging and cut to fit your product. The style can be a folding carton, a mailer or a shipping box. Unlike stock cartons, the size, structure and print are all made for your brand.
Is there a minimum order for branded boxes?
No. TBPB has no minimum order, so you can order a single branded box to test the fit and the print, then reorder in larger quantities after approving it. Each order is made to your own dimensions and artwork.
How do I decide between a mailer and a folding carton?
If the product ships to the customer through a courier, a corrugated mailer protects it better. If it sits on a shelf or goes inside another package, a folding carton is lighter and prints finer. Many brands use both together.
Should I print the inside of the box?
If the budget allows, yes, because the inside is where the customer is looking when they open it. A pattern, thank-you line or QR code adds more perceived value than extra decoration on the outside. Not every structure supports it, so ask us.
How accurate will my brand colour be?
Closer on white board than on kraft, which flattens bright colours. For exact matching, ask for a Pantone match and a proof before the full run. Screens and printed paper never look identical, so approve a physical sample.
What do you need to quote a custom branded box?
Send your product dimensions, the way it ships, the quantity and your artwork or logo files. If you have no artwork yet, send the product and brand colours. We draw the dieline and quote it, and you approve the drawing before printing starts.
