The fit is the whole job
Vape devices are small, so a small error shows. If the insert is a millimeter too loose, the pen slides and rattles. Too tight, and it presses the mouthpiece, or the cartridge gets squeezed. The best vape cartons feel like a tight drawer: the product slides in with a little resistance and stays put when the box is shaken. We cut the insert to the device, not to a standard size, which is why we ask for your actual dimensions before we draw anything.
Carton styles for vape products

Board, print and finish
Folding cartons for vape products are usually made from paperboard in the 16 to 24 point range, which is stiff enough to hold the shape but still folds cleanly at a narrow width. We print CMYK and match Pantone colors, then finish with matte or gloss aqueous coating, soft-touch lamination, spot UV, foil stamping or embossing. Because vape cartons are small, fine detail can get lost. Keep text above a legible size, and avoid hairline lines in foil.
Where a different style is better
If you are shipping devices directly to customers, a folding carton alone will not protect them. Put the retail carton inside a small corrugated mailer. If you are selling multi-packs or a kit with a charger, a rigid two-piece box or a drawer box gives the products a proper tray. And if the product is simply a single cartridge, a slim tuck-end with a board cradle is almost always the neatest answer.

Proofing a vape carton properly
Ask for a physical sample, then test it with the real device inside. Shake it. Stand it on its end. Pull the device out ten times in a row and see whether the insert still grips. Open and close the tuck flap and check that it stays shut without a gap. Then put the sample next to a competitor product on a shelf or a counter and look at it from a few feet away. Small cartons are won or lost on legibility, and you only find that out with the box in your hand. Because there is no minimum order, one sample is a normal first step, not a special request.
