The window is a die-cut hole backed with a clear plastic film, usually PET, glued on the inside face of the panel. Keep a margin of solid board around the window, usually at least 1/4 inch, so the panel stays rigid and the film has something to bond to. Oversized windows weaken the face of the carton and show glue lines.
Structure and board
