Sizing: the stack decides everything
A standard US business card is 3.5 by 2 inches, but the box is not built around that number alone. It is built around the stack. Measure the card width and height, then measure the full stack height with the exact stock you will use, pressed flat but not squeezed. Allow about 1/8 inch of clearance per side so cards slide in and out without scraping the print on the edges. Too tight and the cards bend when you pull them out. Board, closure and print
This product is a folding carton, usually a tuck-end style with a flap that tucks into the front of the box. Paperboard in the 16 to 24 pt range gives you a stiff, clean edge on something this small, and a 350 gsm class SBS sheet takes colour sharply. Print options include CMYK, Pantone matching for brand-critical colours, and matte or gloss aqueous coating. Soft-touch lamination, spot UV and foil stamping are available for boxes that need to feel like part of a gift. Foil works best on a short logo or a single line of text. Fine foil on tiny type tends to fill in.

When a different box is the better choice
A tuck-end carton is light and economical, but it is not a keepsake. If the box is part of a luxury gift card presentation, a separate lid and base like our two piece boxes feels heavier in the hand and survives being kept on a shelf. If the cards ship inside a larger set with a tool or a sample, a tuck top box with more depth is a better fit. Check the fit before you commit to a run
Because there is no minimum order, the sensible habit is to order one printed box first. Put your real cards in it, close the flap, and pull a card out ten times. You will find out right away whether the flap tension feels right, whether the logo lands where you expected, and whether the stack sits level. Fixing the dieline at that stage is a one-line change. Fixing it after a few thousand boxes are printed is a very different conversation, so use the freedom the order size gives you.

Matte aqueous coating is the practical choice for a box that gets handled. Soft-touch lamination feels better in the hand, and foil or spot UV works well on a logo. Keep type large enough to read at this size, because very small text can lose detail in foil.
