Shoe Display Boxes

Shoe display boxes are shoe boxes built to be seen: a window, a clear lid or a front that opens so the shoe shows on the shelf. TBPB prints them to your shoe size and artwork with no minimum order, so a single boutique or a pop-up can have its own display boxes.

Pricing depends on size, material and quantity. Tell us what you need and how many: we prepare the dieline, send a free design and digital proof, and quote your order. No minimum order, free shipping. There is no production setup fee on orders of 200 units or more. For smaller orders, the team confirms any setup fee in your quote. Ordering 1,000 or more? Shoe display boxes are shoe boxes designed to show the shoe before anyone opens them, with a die-cut window, a clear panel or an open front. TBPB makes them custom with no minimum order, and a written quote for the same specs gets beaten under our price-beat guarantee.

Display first, protection second

A standard shoe box is judged by how it stacks in a stockroom. A display box is judged by what a customer sees from three feet away. That changes the build. A window or open front exposes the shoe to dust, light and handling, so these boxes work best on a shelf, in a boutique or in a pop-up, and less well as the only carton for shipping. Many brands pair them with an outer shipper for transit and keep the display box for the shop floor.

Window styles that actually work

A film window over a die-cut opening on the lid shows the toe and the vamp, which is where most shoes get their character. A full-front window shows the side profile, good for trainers with a distinctive sole. A half-open front with a tray lets the shoe sit slightly out, which suits a sandal or heel. Windows that are too big weaken the board, so keep a border of at least a finger’s width around the opening. For a fuller look at film options, our window pillow boxes show how windows are cut and patched on other shapes.

Sizing for a pair of shoes

Shoe boxes are sized to a pair, laid sole to sole or side by side. Measure the largest shoe you will sell in length, width at the ball and height at the highest point, including any heel counter or tongue. Add about 1/4 inch of room around the shoe, more for chunky trainers or boots. One box size for a whole range rarely works, so group sizes into two or three boxes rather than printing a separate size for every single number.

Board and print

Folding carton paperboard around 18 to 24 pt prints crisply and works for lighter shoes in a shop. Corrugated E-flute adds crush resistance for stacking on shelves and is sturdier for heavier boots and trainers. Print in CMYK for photo-led boxes or in a single Pantone colour for a plain, confident look. A matte coating with a small foil stamp on the logo is a combination that suits boutiques. Keep colour consistent across all the boxes in a range.

When another box is the better call

If the main job is protecting shoes in a parcel, look at custom shoe box packaging or a printed mailer box. If you only need a shelf stand rather than a box per pair, see our retail display boxes.

One thing buyers forget: the shoe inside the window is the shoe people will see, so use the display pair, stuffed and laced, not whichever pair is nearest. Tissue or a printed paper liner behind the window hides the gaps and makes the colour of the shoe stand forward.

  • Window options: lid window, full-front window, open-front tray
  • Board: folding carton paperboard or corrugated E-flute
  • Print: CMYK or Pantone, matte or gloss coating, foil stamping
  • Sized for your largest shoe plus clearance
  • Quantity: no minimum order

Next step: send the shoe’s length, width and height, the window style you like and the quantity, even one, and TBPB will draw the dieline and quote it.

Frequently asked questions

  1. What is a shoe display box?

It is a shoe box with a window, clear panel or open front so the shoe can be seen without opening the box. It is mostly used on shelves and in shops, where the customer judges the shoe by looking.

  2. Is there a minimum order for shoe display boxes?

No. TBPB has no minimum order, so a boutique can order a single box to test the window and fit, or a full run for a launch. Quantity changes the quote, not whether we will make it.

  3. How do I size a shoe display box?

Measure the largest shoe you will sell: length, width at the ball and height at the tallest point. Add about 1/4 inch of clearance, more for boots and chunky trainers. We draw the dieline from those three numbers.

  4. Can shoe display boxes be used for shipping?

They can, but a window and open areas offer less protection. Most brands use display boxes in the shop and ship inside an outer mailer or shipper. Tell us how the box will travel and we will advise.

  5. What board is best for shoe display boxes?

Folding carton paperboard around 18 to 24 pt is good for shop use and lighter shoes. Corrugated E-flute adds stacking strength for boots and trainers. We confirm the board when you send the shoe weight and dimensions.

  6. Can you beat a quote I already have?

Yes. Bring a written quote for the same size, window and print specs and TBPB will beat it. That is our price-beat guarantee, and it applies to shoe display boxes.

Enhance Your Retail Display with Custom Shoe Display Boxes

On a shop shelf, a closed shoe box tells the customer nothing. A display box shows them the shoe, so the packaging does some of the selling. TBPB makes shoe display boxes with a window, clear panel or open front, printed to your artwork, with no minimum order. Retailers and shoe brands pick them for boutique shelves, pop-ups and trade shows, where customers handle the box and the shoe has about three seconds to catch their eye.

What Are Shoe Display Boxes?

Decide where the box lives before you pick the window. For a shelf, a lid window or full-front window shows the shoe well. For a pop-up that gets knocked about, choose corrugated and keep the opening modest. Size from the largest shoe in the range, with a quarter inch of clearance, and group sizes into two or three box sizes. Keep a solid border around the window so the lid does not sag. If the box also has to ship, plan an outer carton or ask us about a sturdier build.
