An action figure box template is the flat dieline for a window box: a tuck end carton with a die-cut window in the front panel, lids at the top and bottom, dust flaps, a glue flap and, for peg walls, a hang tab with a euro slot rising from the back panel. A die-cut tray inside holds the figure and accessories behind the window. This page shows the layout, three sizes for common figure scales and how to set up artwork. How to read the layout

LineMeaningWhat to do with it
Solid magentaCut, including the window and euro slotThe knife follows this line. The window opening is cut out and covered with clear film.
Dashed blueCreaseThe board folds here. Keep small text and fine lines off it.
Orange fillGlue areaLeave it free of ink and coating so the glue bonds to bare board.

The production file we send also carries bleed and safe zone lines for your job, and a separate dieline for the tray. Your free digital proof confirms both.

Setting up the artwork

  1. Lock the dieline on its own layer and build artwork underneath in CMYK.
  2. Keep the character name and line name above or below the window, not across the film.
  3. Design the backer card as its own file. It sits behind the figure and shows through the window.
  4. Put character art on the side panels so the box reads when shelved spine out.
  5. Reserve space on the back for the barcode, the producer name and address, the country of origin and the tracking code. Toys for ages 3 to 6 with small accessories need a choking hazard warning on the front. See the labeling guide.
  6. Outline fonts, embed images at 300 dpi or better and export a vector PDF with the dieline layer in place.

The tray and the hang tab

The tray is a separate die-cut paperboard insert with a cavity for the figure and slots for each accessory. Send us every accessory that goes in the box so each gets its own slot. The hang tab is a folded double-thickness panel on the back with a euro slot. Heavier figures can use a reinforced tab, which we size to the weight.
