A luxury mailer box is a corrugated mailer that arrives looking like a gift box: printed edge to edge inside and out, a soft touch or matte finish, foil on the lid, a tissue and insert layout inside, and a structure stiff enough that the lid closes flat and the corners arrive sharp. It is still a mailer, it ships flat, folds without tape and goes through the parcel network on its own, but it is built and finished to a rigid box standard. We make them in E flute with a white top liner, in any size and with no minimum order. The number that separates a luxury mailer from a standard one is the board: a white top E flute at 32 ECT with a laminated print sheet, rather than a direct print on kraft, is what gives the flat, saturated color and the crisp fold.

This is the box for brands that want the unboxing of a rigid box without shipping a rigid box: skincare, jewelry, apparel, premium subscriptions, tech accessories and gifting. It costs more than a standard mailer and less than a rigid box in a shipper, and it needs no second box.

Sizes

Luxury mailers are sized to the insert. The insert holds the product still and presents it at the lid line, and the box is built around it with an eighth of an inch to spare.

Finishes

Soft touch lamination gives the velvety matte surface that reads as luxury and hides fingerprints. Foil stamping in gold, silver, copper or a custom color on the logo. Spot UV over a matte lamination for a gloss logo on a matte ground. Blind embossing of a pattern or a mark. One or two of these on the lid; the inside print does the rest. Because the print sheet is litho, photographic artwork, gradients and small type all hold.

Shipping

A luxury mailer ships as its own parcel. The soft touch lamination scuffs less than a gloss finish in transit, and a folded and glued corner survives a corner drop better than a plain fold. For very heavy contents or long international legs, a plain outer adds protection; for most domestic parcels it is not needed, which is the saving over a rigid box.

Luxury mailer box questions

  1. What is the difference between a luxury mailer and a standard mailer?

The board and the print. A luxury mailer uses white top E flute with a laminated litho print sheet, printed edge to edge inside and out, with soft touch or matte lamination, foil and a fitted insert. A standard mailer is direct printed kraft or white board with a plain interior. Same structure, different finish and feel.

  2. Luxury mailer or rigid box?

A luxury mailer ships as its own parcel, folds flat for storage and costs less than a rigid box plus a shipper, while giving most of the unboxing. A rigid box feels heavier in the hand and suits products the customer keeps the box for. If it ships direct in volume, the mailer usually wins.

  3. Does soft touch lamination scuff in the mail?

Less than gloss. Soft touch hides fingerprints and light scuffs, and a folded and glued corner keeps the box square. For long international legs or heavy contents a plain outer adds protection.

  4. Can the inside be printed?

Yes, edge to edge on the lid and base, which is the first thing the customer sees. Add a printed insert or tray, tissue in the brand color, and a card on top for the full reveal.

  5. Is there a minimum order?

No. A launch run of fifty or a production run. Free design and dieline, free samples to load and drop, and a printed proof before the run.

No minimum order. One or a full run. Free design and dieline, and a printed proof before production. Free samples so you can load a sample and open it the way a customer would before you commit. Price match: send a written quote for the same size, board, print and quantity and we will beat it.

Luxury mailer boxes built to a rigid box standard

White top E flute mailers with a laminated litho print sheet, printed edge to edge inside and out, soft touch or matte lamination, foil, spot UV and embossing, folded and glued corners, and a fitted insert. Sized to the insert: 9 by 6 by 3 for a skincare set, 7 by 5 by 2 for jewelry, 12 by 9 by 3 for apparel. Ships flat, folds without tape, travels as its own parcel. No minimum order, free design and dieline, free samples.

When a luxury mailer beats a rigid box

Choose the luxury mailer when the product ships direct in any volume: it folds flat for storage, travels as its own parcel, and gives most of the rigid box unboxing without a second shipper. Choose a rigid box when the customer keeps the box, when weight in the hand is the point, or when the product is heavy or fragile enough to need 2 mm board. Send us the product and we will sample both so you can decide with them side by side.
