Shipping and Turnaround

Standard production runs 7 to 14 business days, depending on the box style, print method, and finishing you choose, a simple kraft mailer moves faster than a box with foil stamping or spot UV. Need it sooner? We handle rush requests case by case, so email us your deadline before you place the order and we’ll tell you straight whether we can hit it.

Shipping is free on every order, in the United States and internationally. We ship with FedEx, UPS, USPS or DHL depending on your location and order size, and you’ll get a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our facility.

Clear soap boxes are folding cartons made from transparent plastic sheet, so the whole bar is visible from every side. TBPB prints and cuts them to your bar size with no minimum order, and if you bring a written quote for the same specs, we beat it.

When a fully clear box beats a window

A window box shows one panel of soap and hides the rest behind paper. A fully clear box shows everything: the swirl on the side, the embedded flowers on the bottom, the layered color you can only see in profile. If your soap is the best-looking thing you sell, clear is the honest choice. If your bar is plain cream or beige, a window soap box or a kraft soap box will usually look better and cost you less visual noise.

Material and how the box is built

Clear cartons are cut from thin transparent plastic, commonly PET, PP or PVC, in a thickness around 0.2 to 0.4 mm. That is thin enough to crease and fold into a tuck or a lock-bottom style, and stiff enough to hold a hand-cut bar without bowing. PET gives the clearest finish. Frosted plastic is also possible when you want a soft see-through look that hides small surface flaws.

Print on clear plastic works differently from print on paper. Colors laid straight onto a clear sheet look thin because light passes through them, so a white ink underlay is normally printed first wherever you want solid, opaque color. Small logos, a brand name band, or a single-color label strip print well and keep the soap visible.

One more honest point: a clear box exposes every flaw. Air bubbles, uneven edges, a smudged corner and fingerprints from handling all show through, so clear packaging rewards clean cutting and careful handling at the packing table. Many makers wear cotton gloves when boxing. If your process is rustic by design, that exposure can be part of the charm.

Sizing a clear box around a bar

Measure the bar length, width and height at its widest points, then add about 1/8 inch of clearance per side. Handmade soap is rarely uniform, so measure three or four bars and size to the largest. Clear plastic has no give, unlike a paperboard carton that can flex a little, so a tight fit that looks fine on one bar can refuse to close on the next.

  • Fully transparent or frosted plastic
  • Tuck-end or lock-bottom construction, sized to your bar
  • CMYK or Pantone-matched print with a white ink underlay
  • Spot print, brand bands, or a paper belly band over the box
  • Foil stamping on selected designs

What to know before you order

Plastic does not breathe. Cold-process soap that has not fully cured can sweat inside a sealed clear box, and strongly scented bars may leave a film on the inside wall. Cure the bars completely first, and consider a soap packaging sleeve if you want the bar exposed with branding wrapped around it. For shipping, a clear carton alone will not protect against crushing, so pack the cartons inside a corrugated mailer.

If you sell soap with ingredient or claim wording on it, you are responsible for the label copy and for any regulatory requirements. TBPB prints the artwork you supply. Send your bar dimensions and a quantity, even one, and we draw the dieline and quote it. You can also compare the paper alternative on our cardboard soap boxes page.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Do you have a minimum order for clear soap boxes?

No. TBPB has no minimum order, so you can order one box to test the fit or several thousand for a full launch. Send the bar size and quantity and we draw the dieline and quote it. If you have a written quote from another supplier for the same specs, we will beat it.

  2. What plastic are clear soap boxes made from?

Most clear folding cartons are PET, PP or PVC sheet, typically about 0.2 to 0.4 mm thick. PET gives the clearest look. Tell us how the box will be used and we will recommend a stock that folds cleanly at your carton size.

  3. Can you print on a clear soap box?

Yes. Print on clear plastic usually needs a white ink underlay wherever you want solid color, otherwise the ink looks thin and see-through. Logos, text bands and one-color designs work especially well because they keep most of the bar visible.

  4. How do I size a box for a handmade soap bar?

Measure length, width and height at the widest points on several bars, add about 1/8 inch per side, and size to the biggest bar. Plastic does not flex, so a tight fit that works on one bar may fail on the next.

  5. Will soap sweat inside a clear plastic box?

It can. Plastic does not breathe, and uncured cold-process soap or heavily scented bars may sweat or leave a film. Let the soap cure fully before boxing it, or choose a window or paper style if your bars are very moist.

  6. Do clear soap boxes ship safely on their own?

Not reliably. A thin plastic carton is a display package, not a shipping package. For e-commerce orders, place the cartons inside a corrugated mailer with some void fill so edges and corners do not crack.

Why Choose Clear Soap Boxes?

A clear soap box lets a customer see the full bar before they touch it, which matters when your soap has layers, swirls or embedded botanicals. TBPB makes these cartons from transparent plastic sheet, cut and folded to the exact size of your bar. You can print a logo, a brand band or a single-color label area, and leave the rest clear. There is no minimum order, so a small-batch maker can package one test run and a retailer can order thousands, all from the same dieline.

Why Clear Soap Boxes Are the Ideal Packaging Solution

Start with the bar. Measure length, width and height on several bars, because handmade soap varies, and add about 1/8 inch of clearance per side. Choose fully clear if the design is the draw, or frosted plastic if you want a softer look that hides small surface flaws. Keep printed areas modest, since solid color on clear plastic needs a white ink layer underneath. If your soap is plain, compare a window or kraft style before you commit. Send the dimensions and we will quote it. Cure the soap fully first, and test one sealed bar for a week to see how it behaves behind plastic.
