Covered with a clear film patch glued from the inside, it keeps the product clean. Tell us if your contents are food, because film choice and unwrapped contact are your decision and your regulatory adviser’s, and you are responsible for the labelling copy on the carton.
Keep the window modest. A huge opening weakens the panel and the box may sag. Leave a generous border of board around the cut-out on every side, and avoid putting the window near the fold lines or the handle. Sizing, board and finishing
Measure the contents as packed, such as a stack of cookies, a candle or a set of small toys, then add about 1/8 inch of clearance on each side and allow height for the gable ridge itself. Most gable boxes use folding carton paperboard, with kraft board for a natural look. Printing is CMYK with Pantone matching, and finishes include matte or gloss aqueous coating, soft touch lamination, spot UV, foil stamping and embossing.
Think about how the box will be filled and sold. Gable boxes arrive flat and are folded and locked by hand, which is quick for a few dozen but slow for a big run, so ask us about the glue seam and which parts fold in advance. Boxes that sit in a retail display often look best when the window shows a neat stack or an arranged layout, so plan how the product is placed rather than dropped in. A small tissue or paper liner behind the window can give the contents a clean backdrop and keep crumbs and oil away from the board.
