A custom printed greeting card is a folded card on 14 to 16 point cover stock, printed on the outside and inside, supplied flat or folded with a matching envelope. We print them for brands that put a card in every order, for retailers and stationery lines, for events and for holiday mailings, in the standard sizes so envelopes and mailing rates are predictable, with no minimum order. The number that matters most is the size: A2, 4.25 by 5.5 inches folded, and A7, 5 by 7 inches folded, cover almost everything, and both mail at a standard letter rate in their matching envelope.

For a packaging brand the card is the last thing in the box and the first thing the customer reads. A printed thank you card in an order costs little, turns a parcel into a message, and is the one piece of packaging customers photograph and keep.

Square cards look distinctive and cost more to mail. If the card goes in a parcel rather than the post, that does not matter; if it mails on its own, stay with A2 or A7.

Stock and print

14 point cover stock is the standard greeting card weight; 16 point feels heavier and suits premium lines. Uncoated stock takes a pen well for a handwritten note inside, which is the point of most brand cards. Coated gloss or silk stock gives the sharpest color for photographic fronts. Full color both sides, or full color outside and one color inside. Finishes: matte or soft touch lamination on the front only so the inside stays writable, foil stamping, blind embossing, and a rounded corner die.

Cards for orders, retail and events

Order inserts

A flat or folded A2 card with a thank you, a care note, a reorder code or a review request. Printed in bulk once, dropped in every order. Leave a blank inside for a handwritten line; customers notice.

Retail and stationery lines

A7 folded cards with envelopes, sleeved in a clear or paper sleeve, or sold in boxed sets of 8 or 10 in a printed box with a lid. We make the box too.

Events and holidays

Bulk A7 cards with envelopes, addressed or blank, with a matching envelope liner if the brand wants it. Order by the mailing list count plus 5 percent.

Greeting card questions

  1. What size is a standard greeting card?

A7, 5 by 7 inches folded, with an A7 envelope. A2, 4.25 by 5.5 inches folded, is the standard note card and the usual choice for an order insert. Both mail at the standard letter rate.

  2. What paper are greeting cards printed on?

14 point cover stock as standard, 16 point for a heavier premium feel. Uncoated for a card that will be written in; coated silk or gloss for photographic fronts. Lamination goes on the outside only so the inside stays writable.

  3. Do the cards come with envelopes?

Yes, in the matching size, blank or printed with a return address or a pattern. Cards can be supplied flat, folded, or folded and inserted into the envelope.

  4. Can I get a small quantity of cards for order inserts?

Yes. There is no minimum order, so a first run of a hundred thank you cards for a small brand is a normal order, and reorders run from the approved file.

  5. Is there a minimum order?

No. Fifty cards or fifty thousand. Free design, free printed samples, and a proof before the run.

No minimum order. One or a full run. Free design and dieline, and a printed proof before production. Free samples so you can write on a printed sample before you commit. Price match: send a written quote for the same size, board, print and quantity and we will beat it.
