Burger Packaging

Burger packaging is the box, clamshell, or sleeve that holds a burger together from the grill to the customer. Restaurants, ghost kitchens, food trucks, and catering outfits buy it printed with their logo. Every order is made to your dimensions with no minimum order, and TBPB beats a written quote for the same specs. Full-size burgers go in burger boxes, and sliders and kids portions fit custom mini burger boxes. Send the stacked height of your tallest burger and a quantity, even one, and we will return a dieline and quote. You supply the nutrition and labeling copy; we print your artwork.

Measure the burger the way it actually leaves the kitchen

Most burger box problems come from measuring a plain patty on a bun. Measure the finished burger: bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sauce, and the compression from the wrapper. A burger that is 3.5 inches tall on the pass can read 3 inches after a few minutes in a bag. Give us the widest diameter and the stacked height of your tallest build, and the dieline is sized around that. A box with a quarter inch of play keeps the burger from sliding. A box with an inch of play lets it tumble into the corner of the bag.

Box formats and what each is good at

A hinged clamshell is the usual choice for dine-out and delivery. It opens flat, becomes a tray, and the lid stays attached so nothing gets lost. A tuck-top carton is flatter to store and cheaper on board, but it opens fully and has no hinge. A wrap or sleeve is for counter service where the burger gets eaten within minutes. Smaller formats like custom mini burger boxes work for sliders, appetizer sets, and kids meals, and you can print different artwork on each size.

Board, coating, and heat

Hot, juicy food and plain paperboard do not get along. Steam softens the board, and grease can show through within minutes. Ask about a grease-resistant coating or liner when you order, and tell us how long the burger typically sits before it is eaten. Ventilation matters too: a small vent hole releases steam so the bun does not turn soggy, though it also lets heat out faster. Confirm with your own test batch. We print on the board you choose; food-contact suitability of any coating or liner is something to confirm for your market before you commit.

When a different box is better

If you sell pizza, fries, or sides along with burgers, look at custom pizza boxes or the wider custom food boxes range so the whole order matches. A burger that travels thirty minutes by delivery rider needs more insulation than any single-layer box gives. Consider a paper wrap inside the box, or an outer bag with a closed top, rather than asking one box to do every job.

Ordering

Send burger diameter, stacked height, how many boxes you want, and your logo. One box works for a sample run. We return a dieline for approval before anything prints. If you already buy stock boxes, send what they cost you and what size they are, and we will compare them with a printed version at your dimensions.

Questions buyers ask about burger packaging

Do you have a minimum order for burger boxes?

No minimum order. You can order one box to test the fit or tens of thousands for a chain. Printing and size are the same either way.

What size burger box do I need?

Measure your finished burger, not the patty. Record the widest diameter and the stacked height of the tallest build, then add a quarter inch of room each way. Send those numbers and we set the box dimensions.

Will grease soak through the box?

It can on uncoated paperboard, especially with sauce and a long hold time. Ask for a grease-resistant coating or liner and test a batch with your real burger before you commit to a large order.

Can I print my own logo and menu items on the box?

Yes. Send vector artwork and we print it full color on the box. Menu copy and legal text are yours to supply, and we place them as artwork.

Are mini burger boxes available?

Yes. Mini burger boxes are made for sliders and kids meals, in sizes you specify.

Can you beat my current supplier price?

Send a written quote for the same size, material, and quantity. We aim to beat it, and we will tell you plainly if we cannot.
