Custom Pizza Boxes

Custom pizza boxes are corrugated boxes sized to the pie, printed with your logo or artwork, and built to carry a hot, greasy pizza without going soft at the corners. Pizzerias, ghost kitchens, and food trucks order them in the standard pie diameters or cut to a custom size. There is no minimum order, so one test box is as easy to request as a full pallet, and if you bring a written quote for the same specs, we beat it. Start with the pizza boxes page, send your pie diameter and a quantity, and we return a dieline and a quote. If the pizza will ship frozen or par-baked, see the notes below on shipping boxes.

Sizing a pizza box to the pie

The nominal size of a pizza box matches the pie. A 14-inch pizza goes in a 14-inch box, and 12, 16, and 18-inch boxes follow the same logic. Height is where people get caught. A thin-crust pie is happy in a low box, but deep dish, stuffed crust, and thick Sicilian trays need extra depth, and a lid that presses the cheese is a bad first impression. Measure your tallest finished pie, toppings included, and give us that number along with the diameter.

Square and rectangular boxes exist for Detroit-style and sheet pies, so if your menu is not round, send the pan dimensions instead of a diameter.

Board, flute, and grease

Most pizza boxes are made from E-flute microcorrugated board. The thin flute folds cleanly, stacks flat, and holds heat reasonably well. A thicker B-flute adds stacking strength but makes the fold less crisp, so it is usually reserved for heavier or multi-pie orders. Kraft board gives a natural look with a one-color logo. A white liner takes full-color printing and photography better.

Grease is the real test. Oil wicks through uncoated board and leaves dark spots on the lid and bottom, which looks worse in a delivery bag than it does on a counter. If your pizzas run oily or the trip is long, ask about a liner or coating on the inside. If food-contact rules matter for your operation, check the board and any coating against your local requirements before you order.

Venting, locks, and the delivery problem

A pizza steams in a closed box, and trapped steam softens the crust faster than the trip itself. Small vent holes in the sides let some of it out. Lock-corner and tab-style closures keep the lid from popping when the box is stacked in a bag. If you deliver through apps, tell us roughly how many boxes are stacked per trip, because that decides how much stacking strength you need.

Printing that gets seen

One-color logos on kraft are the most common starting point and they photograph well on social media. Full-color work on white suits a brand with a pattern or illustrations. Remember that the lid is not the only surface people see. A phone number, a QR code to your ordering page, or a short line on the side panel works harder than a large logo that is hidden when the boxes are stacked.

When another category is the better answer

Pizza that ships frozen or par-baked needs a shipping carton, not a counter box, so look at shipping boxes. For slices, pastries, and sides sold at a counter, display boxes or general cardboard boxes may fit better than a full pie box.

How to order

Send the pie diameter or pan dimensions, the finished height, the print you want, and a quantity. The quantity can be one. We return a dieline and a quote through the pizza boxes page, and you can adjust before anything is printed.

Questions buyers ask about custom pizza boxes

Is there a minimum order for custom pizza boxes?

No. There is no minimum order, so you can order a single box to test the fit and print or thousands for a full season. Many shops start small to check the size against their actual pies before scaling up.

What sizes do pizza boxes come in?

Standard sizes follow the pie diameter, commonly 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 inches. Custom sizes are possible for square pans, deep dish, and anything outside the usual range. Send your measurements and we build the dieline to match.

Will the box hold up to grease?

Uncoated board will show grease spots on oily pizzas. A liner or coating reduces that. Tell us how oily your pies run and how long they travel, and we can discuss what fits your product and local requirements.

Do pizza boxes ship flat?

Pizza boxes are normally supplied flat and folded by hand at the shop, which saves storage space. Confirm the format when you request your quote, particularly if you need a lock-corner style.

Can I print my own artwork on pizza boxes?

Yes. Send your logo or artwork and we print it. Kraft board suits one-color logos, and white board suits full color. You provide the artwork and any required wording, and we place it on the dieline.

Can the box be made for deep dish or stuffed crust?

Yes, with a taller side wall. Measure the finished pie at its highest point including toppings, and send that height with the diameter so the lid closes without pressing on the cheese.
