A luxury scent box is a rigid box for a perfume, cologne or home fragrance bottle: 2 to 2.5 mm greyboard wrapped in printed or textured paper, a lid that lifts or a flap that closes on a magnet, and an insert cut to the exact bottle so it stands still and lifts out cleanly. We make them as lid and base, magnetic flap, drawer and shoulder boxes, with foam, paperboard or fabric covered inserts, in any size and with no minimum order. The number that sets everything is the bottle: a 50 ml perfume bottle is typically 2 to 2.5 inches wide, 1.25 inches deep and 4 to 5 inches tall with the cap, and the box adds a sixteenth of an inch of clearance in the insert and half an inch of board around it.
Fragrance is bought on the box more than any other cosmetic, because the customer cannot smell it through a screen or across a store. The box has to promise what the scent delivers, and it has to protect glass that is heavy, tall and fragile, which means the insert matters as much as the wrap.

Structures
Lid and base is the classic: the lid lifts, the bottle stands in its insert, the customer lifts it by the cap. A shoulder box, where a contrasting inner tray shows as a line between lid and base, adds a second color and a sense of depth. A magnetic flap box opens like a book to reveal the bottle and closes with a click. A drawer box slides the bottle out on a ribbon. For discovery sets, a shallow lid and base with a five cavity tray shows every vial at once.
Board, wrap and finish
2 mm board for bottles to 50 ml, 2.5 mm for 100 ml and diffusers, so the walls carry the weight of glass without flexing. Wraps: printed art paper for color and pattern, textured stocks, linen, leatherette, pearlescent, for a tactile lid, and soft touch lamination for the matte velvet feel. Foil stamping in gold, silver, rose gold or a custom color on the name; blind embossing for a mark that is felt more than seen; spot UV for a gloss name on a matte ground. One or two of these on the lid. The inside wrap, in a contrasting color, is seen every time the box opens.
Inserts
Die-cut EVA foam, cut to the bottle outline and wrapped in the box paper or a satin, holds the bottle upright with a sixteenth of an inch of clearance and a finger notch on each side to lift it. Paperboard inserts, wrapped, do the same job at lower cost for lighter bottles. Fabric covered platforms with a bottle shaped recess suit the highest end. Every insert is cut from the bottle itself or its drawing; send one and we cut to it.
Shipping a scent box
Rigid boxes ship assembled. For direct orders the scent box goes inside a corrugated outer sized with half an inch of clearance and a corrugated pad top and bottom, so the corners arrive square and the glass never sees the outer wall. For retail, cases of 6 or 12 in a divided master carton.
