A luxury paper bag is a heavier, retail-grade shopping bag with a reinforced base and a finished handle, built to carry a product out of a store and still look good on the street. TBPB prints custom luxury paper bags with no minimum order and a price-beat guarantee: bring a written quote for the same specs and we beat it.
What separates a luxury bag from a basic one
Three things: paper weight, construction and handles. A basic kraft bag is thin paper with a glued flat handle or none. A luxury bag uses thicker coated or art paper, often laminated, a folded-over top hem that stiffens the mouth, and a base card that keeps the bottom flat when the bag is loaded. The handle is where most buyers decide whether it feels expensive, so it deserves attention before you pick a color.
Handles, base and top hem
Twisted paper handles are the economical choice and are fully recyclable. Cotton or polyester rope handles feel softer in the hand and suit boutique and apparel use. Ribbon handles are the most polished and look best on small gift bags, though they carry less weight. Die-cut handles skip the add-on entirely and keep the bag flat, which works well for lighter retail items. Whichever you pick, a bag with a base card and a reinforced top will carry a lot more than a bag without one. Ask us to confirm which handle and base options are available for your size and quantity.

How to size a bag
Measure the packed item, not the bare product. For a bag you need width, gusset (the side depth) and height. The width should clear the widest part of your box or garment by about 1 to 2 cm per side, and the height should come to a little below the top of the item so the customer can see and reach it, or a little above if you want to hide it behind tissue. A bag that is too deep for a small item looks cheap. A bag that is too tight tears at the corners.
Printing and finishes
Most luxury bags carry a single-color or full-color logo on both faces and a clean interior. Foil, spot gloss and soft-touch laminate are common finishes in this category, but options change with paper and size, so ask us to confirm what is available for your spec. One practical point: dark solid colors show scuffs. If the bag will travel on public transport, a matte laminate hides marks better than a gloss one.
How to order
Send the bag size or the product you need to carry, plus the quantity, even if it is just a few for a launch. We send a dieline and a quote, then a digital proof for approval. Look at custom paper bags, custom gift bags, white paper bags and brown kraft paper bags, or the whole custom bags category. Pair the bag with custom tissue paper, and see our apparel packaging page if you sell clothing. When you are ready, use the quote form.
Questions buyers ask
Is there a minimum order for luxury paper bags?
No. We do not set a minimum quantity, so a small boutique run is priced the same way as a large one. The price-beat guarantee applies: bring a written quote for the same specs and we will beat it.
What handle is best for heavier items?
Rope handles, or twisted paper handles anchored with a reinforced top hem, carry the most. Ribbon looks best but suits lighter gifts. Tell us the item weight and we will recommend the handle.
Can I print inside the bag?
Inside print is an option. A plain interior is common, but a pattern or short line of text inside gives the bag a finished look. Ask us to confirm coverage for your size.
How do I choose the bag size?
Measure the packed item for width, depth and height. Add 1 to 2 cm of clearance per side on the width and depth. If you send the product or its box dimensions, we calculate the rest.
Can you match my brand colors?
We print to the Pantone or CMYK values you supply and send a digital proof first. Color on uncoated kraft appears duller than on coated white paper, so we flag that during proofing.
