Choosing the build
Cigar packaging splits into two camps. Folding cartons are cut from printed paperboard, ship flat, and suit everyday retail packs of five, ten, or twenty. Rigid boxes are wrapped over thick board and feel substantial in the hand, which is why brands use them for gifts, anniversary releases, and sampler sets. Our cigar boxes show the standard format, and rigid boxes cover the heavier build. Rigid costs more to make than a folding carton and ships bulkier, so match the build to how you sell.
Sizing for count and ring gauge
Cigars are measured by length in inches and ring gauge, the diameter in 64ths of an inch. A 6 x 52 is six inches long and 52/64 of an inch across. Decide the layout first: cigars lying flat in one or two layers, or standing in a tray. Then add a little clearance for the wall thickness and any wrap or sleeve, since a tight box tears the cellophane and scuffs the band. Send us the vitola, count, and layout, and we will size it. A fitted insert keeps the sticks from shifting in transit.
Finishing and branding
